July is National Blueberry Month. This is the peak time for blueberry harvesting, and around this time every year, many blueberry festivals take place around the country.
Who doesn’t like blueberries? If nothing else, the blueberry muffin has made this fruit nearly universally appreciated. While eating raw blueberries provides more nutrients and antioxidants, scattering a handful of blueberries in our favorite pastries is a hard temptation to resist.
Check out some of our adaptive bowls and other kitchen aids that will help you make your next blueberry creation a more convenient process in spite of your arthritis.
First of all, for casual snacking on blueberries, have the Freedom Dinnerware Snack Bowl with Suction Pad on hand. Kick back and watch TV, and instead of eating greasy potato chips, treat yourself to a cluster of blueberries mixed in with your other favorite fruits. The high-sided bowl is held in place and kept from sliding due to the suction pad on the bottom.
The High Sided Plate is also a good holder for a fresh fruit snack. This lightweight plate features high sides perfect for keeping blueberries from rolling around, and the rim on the outside edge helps people with arthritis hold and carry the plate more easily.
If you plan on cooking your blueberries or other fruit as part of a scrumptious pastry, the Sticky Bowl Gripper can be used for mixing bowls or other bowls for cooking. The Sticky Bowl Gripper holds the bowl in place, allowing you to have to use only one hand for mixing.
This is ideal for those who can only use one hand or who experience arthritis pain when holding a mixing bowl in place.
The only other blueberry treat on par with the blueberry muffin is the blueberry pancake. Use the Easi-Grip Spatula to flip some delicious blueberry flapjacks. The Easi-Grip Spatula features a handle that sticks up at a right angle, allowing you to hold it in a simpler, more comfortable position.
Our kitchen aids allow you to enjoy your favorite foods and to make your own homemade creations, which is more nutritious and cost effective than eating pre-packaged foods.
