The Wright Stuff was one of 25 vendors exhibiting in the first Mississippi disAbility MEGAConference held June 21 and 22 at the Jackson Downtown Marriott. Sponsors included almost every disability organization in the state of Mississippi. LIFE of Mississippi and other sponsors worked together to provide families and participants with informative sessions covering a variety of topics that benefited more than 600 attendees. This conference had everything: continuing education credits, silent auction, informative sessions, informal discussions, great food, evening celebration complete with dancing, free massages, door prizes, and great speakers.

Sessions included topics such as:

  • ADA Community Integration
  • Planning Meaningful Community Activities
  • Transportation Initiatives
  • Medicaid Waivers
  • Tips for Seeking Employment

Attendees were able to bid on lovely artwork, gift certificates to local restaurants and businesses, and other great items in the silent auction. I especially enjoyed listening to Congressman Greg Harper talk about his son Livingston during the closing session Friday morning.
