the Game of Life-Will you win?

Wellness Day Event

The Copiah-Lincoln Junior College Eta Omega Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa hosted the Wellness Day event entitled “the Game of Life-Will you win?”. Since May the chapter leaders studied Phi Theta Kappa’s International Honor Study Topic, “the Democratization of Information: Power, Peril and Promise”. After researching this topic, they selected the area of science as their focus, and decided to concentrate on medical and wellness issues affecting their local area. The information presented by vendors included prevention, risk and solutions to various conditions in order to help them participants win their game of life. The event was attended by 140 High School Juniors, individuals from the community, and over 100 current students.

The Wright Stuff was represented by Amy Wright, PT and Tanya Mohawk, LPTA. Information included postural awareness, correct postural alignment when sitting at a computer, and stretches to prevent neck, shoulder, wrist and back pain when using a computer. Students were provided with a Postural Evaluation Checklist to apply the concepts at home in their own study environment.
