Compression stocking aids help those with arthritis

Compression stockings are extremely valuable to those who have problems with circulation in the legs. This includes people with venous disorders like edema, phlebitis and thrombosis.

However putting compression hosiery on and taking it off can be extremely difficult for people with arthritis who have trouble bending over. Also, compression stockings are made to be tight, and pulling them with arthritic hands is tricky and painful.

Compression stocking aids vs. sock aids

We offer a variety of tools for putting on and taking off compression stockings. You may already be using a sock aid, which we also sell, but sock aids will not work on compression stockings. Neither will compression stocking aids work on regular socks. Compression stocking aids will stretch regular socks too much, and they may not even fit on the aid. And sock aids are not large enough to handle compression stockings.

Ezy-As

Ezy-As

The Ezy-As compression stocking aid comes in three color coded sizes. The Ezy-As holds the stocking completely inside out, allowing you to push your foot down into it toe first. Then pull the Ezy-As up your leg and watch the stocking roll right on, hassle-free with no hard finger and hand movements.

You can also get the Ezy-As Applicator Handle, which can be placed onto any size Ezy-As. The Applicator Handle provides extra grip for pulling upward without having to bend over as much, which is great if you have a bad back.

We also offer the Compression Stocking Aid, which functions similarly by rolling the sock inside out onto the aid and pulling upward onto your feet. This aid comes with a strap for pulling already attached. The strap is in the shape of a loop and can be used with one hand or two hands. The small Compression Stocking Aid measures 5.25 by 5.25 inches. The large measures 6 inches by 5.75 inches.

Taking off a compression stocking aid is a challenge as well. Severe arthritis or even simple weakness in the hands can make this process a pain. The Sock-eez takes away all the struggle completely. Just slip it into the top of your stocking and push down. Watch the video to see how easy it is.

Don’t put off wearing your compression stockings just because they are hard to deal with. The aids will help.
